  • Description

Obtusum is such an understated Anthurium. She lives very happily in ambient temps and humidity and has a nice growth habit with relatively small, pendant leaves. The mother of these seeds is a self of the first obtusum I got about 3 years ago as a berry. So these are the grandchildren. No effort is needed for pollination of these plants so this may be a self or it may be an f2 with the mother's own mother (there's just no stopping them).

They are the smallest Anthurium seeds I've seen so far and they're getting the cutest fuzzy roots now. I'm selling a set of 2 germinated seeds. I'll always send the furthest along so yours may have its first leaf.

The first two photos show the mother plant (with a bright purple spadix, now without the berries). The third photo shows the pretty lavender berries and the fourth photo shows the teeny seeds.

  • Growing conditions

The seeds are currently in a propagation tent which sits around 20-24 ºC with humidity around 90% RH. Click here to read my blog on how I grow from seed. The parent plants grow well in household conditions and I would expect the seedlings to be easily acclimatised to lower humidity once they've grown a little.

  • Quality assurance

All plants come with a plant passport or Northern Ireland Plant Health Label. Where necessary plants have been acclimatised after import for at least a month and only listed when they have new growth.
