- Description
The GPH001 is one of the holy grails of carlablackiae; it's a hands down stunner. There is some variability between its selfs and I think this one of Alex's is one of the best! Such clearly defined veins and that beautiful heart shape. And both carla and the papillilaminum pollent parent are so ridiculously dark that I've had to change the background on the photo just so you can see them! I don't see how these seedlings won't grow up to be hands down stunners themselves.
I sold a few of these as small seedlings and I was a bit late in potting the rest up to individual pots but ugh, haven't they grown up beautifully?! You can see in the second photo that this one started out with some speckled variegation. Like most seedlings, it does seem to have grown out of it now so I wouldn't buy it on the basis of the variegation. Buy it for that shape and those veins instead.
- Growing conditions
The seedlings are currently in a propagation tent which sits around 20-24 ºC with humidity around 90% RH. Click here to read my blog on how I grow from seed. The parent plants generally appreciate higher humidity so the seedlings may too. You should still be able to acclimatise down to household conditions once it's established. But be aware it may give you some funky leaves as it gets used to its new conditions.
- Quality assurance
All plants come with a plant passport or Northern Ireland Plant Health Label. Where necessary plants have been acclimatised after import for at least a month and only listed when they have new growth.
