- Description
Besseae aff is fairly readily available in the UK but you don't see the true besseae species very often. I've grown a few of these plants from seeds that I got from Helmut Heider last year and they have exceeded my expectations. They are a cross of two of his mother besseae. I can't adequately explain how vibrant these veins are. They glow! A little like the radiance you see in carlablackiae veins. There is a clumping form of the besseae and this is not that. I've included a photo of the crown to show the growth pattern. The plants were very slow to start from seed but they're growing beautifully now and I'm so happy I can share some with more collectors in the UK.
- Growing conditions
The seedlings are currently in a propagation tent which sits around 20-24 ?C with humidity around 90% RH. Click here to read my blog on how I grow from seed. The parent plants generally appreciate higher humidity so the seedlings may too. You should still be able to acclimatise down to household conditions once it's established. But be aware it may give you some funky leaves as it gets used to its new conditions.
- Quality assurance
All plants come with a plant passport or Northern Ireland Plant Health Label. Where necessary plants have been acclimatised after import for at least a month and only listed when they have new growth.
